Animal Health Certification for the Import of Goats and Sheep

Request for permission to import sheep and goats from the UK

The terms and conditions have been agreed under which live sheep and goats will be allowed to be imported from the UK.

The agreed terms and conditions must be strictly adhered to in order to protect the existing livestock population on the Island of Jersey from diseases which live animals could import.

In order for these conditions to be met, it is essential that the required documentation and certification is completed correctly. In order to assist you to meet these conditions, a series of the required specimen certificates are attached, for your information, as follows:

• Guidance for an official import licence for sheep and goats into Jersey from UK.
• Quarantine premises approval certificate.
• Application for an official import licence for sheep and goats from the UK.
• Import Licence, sheep and goats for breeding from UK.
• Conditions of import for sheep and goats. (amended 29/05/08)
• Export of sheep and goats for breeding to Jersey (DEFRA6327 EHC 26/02/08) and DEFRA Guidance - contact Department.
• Code of Practice for the selection of isolation premises for imported livestock.
