Notes to Editors:
In August 2006, Senator Frank Walker submitted 'Jersey Government's response to the Flamanville 3 Public enquiry' to the Préfecture de la Manche' (see attached document). The document explained that, 'without satisfactory response to the expressed concerns, Jersey must maintain a position of formal objection to the development of the new EPR at Flamanville'.
During the Plenary Session between Normandy and Jersey on 9-10 March 2007 (The Normandy Working Group meetings), Senator Frank Walker invited Senator Jean-Francois Le Grand (President of the Conseil General in La Manche) to visit Jersey in order to further discuss, and answer, these expressed concerns.
The media are invited to the public meeting ( St Paul ’s Centre, 21 June 2007 , 6.00 to 7.45pm ). There will be an opportunity for interviews after the meeting.
