Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters

Multilateral Convention

The Multilateral Convention is an agreement which over 60 countries have signed up to. The agreement means Jersey can exchange tax information with most of countries where the agreement is in force.

The Convention aims to assist in all forms of tax co-operation and to tackle tax evasion and avoidance. It is the most comprehensive treaty of its kind.

It provides for all possible forms of administrative co-operation between countries and states in the assessment and collection of taxes.

Territorial extension of the United Kingdom

The United Kingdom remains responsible for Jersey's international relations. Rather than Jersey sign the Convention itself, the United Kingdom's ratification of the Convention has been extended so that its territory includes Jersey.
