This enabling law (or parent law) was approved by the States of Jersey in May 2006.

Restriction on Smoking (Workplaces) (Jersey) Regulation 2006

These regulations will prohibit smoking in a workplace if the workplace is enclosed by a roof and is surrounded, for more than 50% or its perimeter, by walls and similar structures. The regulations set out limits on and exemptions from this prohibition.

A Tobacco Strategy for Jersey

This document was approved by the States of Jersey in 2003. The strategy sets out to reduce the total harm caused to individuals and the community by the use of tobacco, by employing a range of measures to influence supply, to reduce demand and to provide positive incentives that reinforce non-smoking as the norm.
