Walks & cycle rides etc.

Dustbin Hire
Dustbins can be hired from this Department. A standard rate of £60 will be charged for delivery and collection of up to 15 empty bins (£30 each way). In addition, bins containing waste will incur a charge of £50 per hour for emptying.
If you wish to collect and return and empty the bins yourself, there will be no charge. However, bins containing waste on return will incur a charge of £50 per hour for emptying. Collection or delivery of bins can only take place during normal weekday working hours.
Organisers of events are asked to ensure that glass is collected separately from other wastes. New procedures require organisers to mark clearly on the waste containers ‘Glass Only’ and ‘No Glass’ and ensure that if contractors are employed to remove the waste they are made aware of the need to separate the glass from other waste.
The bins mentioned are standard ‘octopus’ bins. Separate ‘dog waste’ bins or ‘Euro’ bins are not available. All dog waste may be placed in the standard bins, as the dog waste is not handled separately from general waste.
Portable Recycling Banks
The Department now has available portable recycling banks free of charge for events. It would be prefered if you could collect and return the bins but if this is not possible we can arrange this for you. For more details please contact the Recycling Officer, John Rive on tel; 448585 or e-mailj.rive@gov.je
Anyone wishing to reserve a site or apply for permission to hold an event needs to contact the Events Coordinator, Fiona Viel, in writing/ by email: f.viel@gov.je
