St Helier Residents' Parking Scheme
There are currently 3 Residents’ Parking Zones within St. Helier and these have been designated The St Mark's Residents’ Parking Zone, The Richmond Road Residents' Parking Scheme and The Cheapside Residents' Parking Zone.
The schemes have been designed to provide preferential parking for residents in their immediate neighbourhood, and to avoid the necessity of regularly moving vehicles to comply with general parking restrictions, whilst still making provision for visitors. Only a limited number of permits are issued in order to balance the requirements of residents with residents’ parking spaces available, although possession of a permit does not guarantee the availability of a parking space in the Zone.
The Parish of St. Helier administers the Residents’ Parking scheme on behalf of the Minister of Transport and Technical Services. Application forms for Residents’ Parking Permits together with Guidance Notes are available from the Town Hall. Completed application forms are to be submitted to Customer Services on the Ground Floor of the Town Hall together with proof of residence, registration document for the vehicle and payment. Any queries regarding the schemes or applications should be addressed to the Residents Parking Coordinator, Stephen Laugee on 811826 or e-mail Stephen.Laugee@posh.gov.je for an answer.
How is the scheme enforced?
Parish Wardens employed by the Parish of St Helier regularly patrol the Zones to ensure compliance with the regulations. Additional support is provided by the Parish of St. Helier’s Honorary Police, the Roads’ Inspectors and others duly authorized by the Connétable.
