Traffic Signals
The Transport and Technical Services Department maintains 28 traffic signal controlled junctions and 40 signal controlled pedestrian crossings (Pelicans).  Almost all the signal controlled junctions and the most critical Pelican crossings are remotely monitored by computer for correct operation and the early detection of faults.

When a fault is reported, or is detected by remote monitoring, action is taken to rectify the fault.  Faults are normally repaired within 4 working hours.

Road Signs and Markings
The Transport and Technical Services Department maintains road signs and markings on 160 miles of main road.  Damaged, unclear, obstructed or missing signs can be reported by contacting: 448384.
