Parcel description - Customs requirements

The following advice is for personal imports, please see the Customs GST pages for information on business imports and approved traders.

If you are expecting the delivery of a parcel into Jersey you should make sure that the following information is clearly ledgible.  The information you provide lets the Customs officers know whether or not your goods are liable for GST.

- Name of the sender

- Name and address of the recipient

- Number of packages (if more than one)

- Weight of package

- Description of package

- Value of goods*

- Shipping costs*

*If the value and shipping costs are not shown, a calculation cannot be made as to whether the goods are above or below the de-minimis threshold. In such cases the goods will be detained pending a declaration of these values by the importer.
