Property Holdings
Property Holdings was formed in January 2006 within the Treasury and Resources Department to manage States property worth an estimated £1.6 billion. It is responsible for managing and maintaining more than 900 States owned properties, including schools and offices, as well as the design of new States buildings and the management of capital building projects. Property Holdings aims to deliver revenue savings of £1.5 million per year from 2008 and capital savings of £4 million a year from 2009. Some of this money will come from the sale of States properties that are no longer required – as outlined in the annual Property Plan. In 2006 the States approved the sale of nine properties including Chateau du Port on the Five Mile Road and the former Jersey College for Girls site. A further 13 properties were approved for disposal in 2007.
