The Authors of the Chapter on Jersey

Anthony Dessain

Senior Partner at Bedell Cristin, Jersey. He was called to the English Bar in 1974, admitted as an Advocate of the Royal Court in 1979, appointed a Notary Public in 1982 and appointed a Crown Advocate in 1994. He sits on the Committee of the Jersey Law Society and is a former Chairman of the Law Society Financial and Commercial Law Sub Committee. He has co-authored the Institute of Directors' "Guidelines for Jersey Directors". He is also a frequent lecturer at conferences in Jersey, both nationally and internationally.

Michael Wilkins, LLB, BA, FCIS

Qualified as a Barrister and was appointed Viscount (Executive Officer) of the Royal Court of Jersey in 1981. In that capacity he has gained extensive experience as official office-holder in all types of individual and corporate, domestic and cross-border insolvency. He is a member of the Insolvency Practitioners' Association, the Society of Practitioners of Insolvency, the European Insolvency Practitioners' Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute and a founder-member (1995) of the International Association of Insolvency Regulators. In 1997 he was seconded to the office of Judicial Greffier (Clerk) of the Royal Court.
