Viscount's Department Mission Statement

The Department’s objectives are:

To execute, enforce and carry out orders of the Courts (and duties imposed by Law) as effectively, efficiently and speedily as possible;
To provide an efficient and effective Insolvency service to the Island, paying particular regard to the protection of the Island’s reputation as a well-regulated international finance centre;
To provide an efficient and effective Coroner’s service to the Island;
To maintain the highest standards of probity in dealings with our users, and to promote closer liaison with them;
To obtain the necessary resources to achieve the aims of the Department and to utilise them in the most cost effective manner;
To collect fees chargeable for the provision of our services;
To train and empower staff to develop their full potential by reference to personal and professional development plans;
To exploit the use of Information Technology in pursuit of the Department’s service and business objectives
