Tuition fees for Channel Island students

From September 2012 UK universities and higher education institutions are able to set the fees they charge to new undergraduate students. This will not affect students going into their second or later years of study.

New students starting 2013

The fees for new students starting higher education courses in September / October 2013 have been set at the same level as the fees for English home students across the majority of courses, with the exception of a premium for students on courses in price group A.

Each university sets its own fees for new students. Most institutes are charging £9,000 per year for the majority of courses, although there are some exceptions. Please contact the institute directly for information on their course charges.

Continuing students 2013 - 14

Fees for students who started courses pre-2012 are set at the previous year’s levels, plus annual inflation. The inflation rate is the 'All Items Retail Prices Excluding Mortgage Interest Payments Index' (RPI-X) as set out in the UK Student Fees (Inflation Index) Regulations 206 (SI 2006 No 507). The RPI-X 12-month change to March 2013 is 3.2%.

The table below sets out the Island fees for continuing students for 2013-14:

Price group  A
Non-research courses £19,909 £9,251  £7,397  £6,007
Research courses £23,478 £10,559 £8,313 £6,629

If you are unsure which band your course is in, please contact the institute where you will be studying.
