How to register as unemployed

​Registering as unemployed

If you're unemployed, register with Back to Work by completing the registration form.

Register with Back to Work

If you're aged between 16 and 24, not in full time education and would like jobseeking support, email Back to Work.

An Employment Advisor will contact you to arrange your first appointment, which will be at Eagle House, Don Road. You'll receive structured support from our advisors and access to the full services of Back to Work to help you find employment.

You'll be expected to fully use the services offered at Back to Work and to attend appointments as scheduled if you are receiving income support.

Back to Work services are also open to people who don't receive income support.

What to bring when registering as unemployed

When registering as unemployed, you need to bring:

  • photo ID
  • registration card

Once you have registered as unemployed

An Employment Adviser will contact you to get your job search started and you'll:

  • receive help to ensure that you have a high quality, up-to-date CV 
  • be asked to attend suitable training and development sessions
  • be required to attend weekly appointments with a Ready for Work advisor and weekly job club sessions
