When jobseekers book onto a training course, there are valid reasons why they may cancel their place beforehand – starting work, attending a work trial or sickness.
Training provider contracts all have cancellation clauses, and therefore if a late cancellation means we would still need to pay for a course, we would continue to run it, even when there are small numbers.
Back to Work recognises the benefits that training provides for jobseekers and can work with a trainer to tailor the content to address specific areas that require focus for an individual or small group.
Jobseekers on Income Support who fail to attend without good reason are sanctioned.
