Triple P Parenting Programme

What was the tender process and decision making framework for the Triple P Parenting Programme?

This specific training programme was not subject to a tender process. Decision making sat with the Education Department’s Senior Management Team and the Finance Management Team.

Ongoing costs for the delivery of the Triple P programme has been absorbed into the current staffing budgets. How many staff deliver this programme and what is the salary per staff member?

There are 33 members of staff trained in different levels of Triple P at this time, delivering different levels of intervention from Primary Care and Discussion Groups to the more in depth Standard and Group Programmes.

The delivery of Triple P Parenting Programmes is part of their role, rather than their overall role and to varying degrees. Salaries vary according to other responsibilities.

What are the annual costs associated with Triple P in terms of licence to use? Ongoing staff training and so on?

There are no annual licence costs.

There is no requirement for ongoing staff training therefore no cost.

  • number of parents attending

  • number of events by programme level

  • parent satisfaction

In addition, depending on the programme level: Parent Experience Survey; Parenting Scale; Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ); Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scales.

What are the current individual services offered through Parenting Services?

Parenting advice and support to parents of children 0-18 on request, predominantly through co-ordination and delivery of groups, and 1-1 advice and support.

Implementation of an increased offer of Triple P parenting programmes through co-ordination and delivery in partnership with colleagues from other Inclusion and Early Intervention Teams and schools.

Implementation of peer assisted supervision and support as part of the Triple P parenting offer for colleagues delivering Triple P.

What are the objectives and reported measurable outcomes for impact?

  • continuing to promote effective co-ordination of island wide delivery of Triple P parenting programmes. Measurable outcomes – numbers and levels of programmes delivered

  • greater consistency on data capture generally, including training evaluations, Triple P data [focus on outcomes]. Parent satisfaction/confidence measures, family functioning measures; and

  • continued support of volunteering opportunities for parents as parent champions in schools and settings with a focus on information giving around Positive Parenting Programmes and Child Care opportunities. Number of parent volunteer champions in schools and settings. Length of time as volunteer and onward destination. Uptake in local Triple P offer.

Staff time is allocated to attend and support the Brighter Futures Quality Provision Meetings.
