Request
Why does the Data Protection Law prevent me from accessing any information stored about me on the local police HQ computers for free? Surely the FOI Law should be amended to allow me to see any information a subsidiary of the States of Jersey government holds with reference to me without having to pay a fee.
Response
The Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005 was voted on by the States Assembly to include the nominal amount of up to £10 per Subject Access Request. This is in line with other jurisdictions.
