Request
Could you tell me the income that is generated from states owned car parking areas that are reserved for States employees please.
That is the money amounts received for permits to park in these areas by civil servants and other States employees and the amounts individuals pay per annum for parking rights.
The car parks I am asking about are:
- La Collette. Transport and technical services or whatever they are calling themselves this year. Also fisheries.
- DVS at La Collette.
- Any others that use La Collette.
- Airport staff carpark. PoJ staff and general airport staff.
- Howard Davis farm. Fisheries and agricultural aspect staff and any others
- St Helier harbour area. Customs carpark. POJ again.? Boatmen?
- Bellozane parking areas?
A
How much do civil servants pay to park in these car parking areas?
B
How much do manual workers pay to park in these areas?
C
How much do so called non-government departments ie Ports of Jersey staff pay to park in these areas?
D
How many permits are issued per annum to States employees and Ports of Jersey staff to park in these areas please?
Response
The Government of Jersey does not generate any income from staff parking on the requested sites.
146 staff parking permits are currently in issue for the La Collette site. There is no charge for these and the spaces are filled on a first come first served basis.
It should be noted that not all of the issued permits are used on a daily basis since some staff cycle or walk to work or are not permanently based at La Collette.
Information is not held regarding the Airport Staff Car Park and St Helier Harbour Car Parks since they are administered by the Ports of Jersey (PoJ), therefore, Article 10 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
You may wish to send your request to Ports of Jersey using the contact details shown at the end of the response.
Please note that PoJ are not a Scheduled Public Authority, therefore, they are not subject to the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.
