Request

Independent Taxation-Impact On Revenue - Now that elections have made for 2023 - is the forecast of £4m still the expected loss of Revenue due to the introduction of Independent Taxation?

Response

Approximately 300 couples have elected for independent taxation for 2023. A breakdown of the estimated revenue loss as a result of these elections is not held. Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law therefore applies.

Current proposals are for independent taxation to be fully implemented no later than 2025, and the forecast cost at that time remains £4m.
