Request
A
What was the number of eviction requests the Magistrate's court considered in 2022?
B
What was the number of evictions requests for which the court granted permission in 2022?
C
Of the requests for evictions in 2022 how many were from social housing landlords (for example, Andium and housing trusts) and how many were from private landlords?
D
Of the evictions granted by the Court, how many were from social housing landlords (for example, Andium and housing trusts) and how many were from private landlords?
Response
This request is for a 2022 update of the same information asked for in this earlier Freedom of Information request:
Eviction requests brought to the Magistrate's Court (FOI)
This update is provided with the same caveats as that earlier request which are repeated below.
From the figures held it is not possible to differentiate between the different social housing landlords.
Data are not collated for the "number of eviction requests the Magistrate's Court considered", so the figures provided below in response to request (A) should be interpreted as "number of cases brought to Court and heard at least once". This does not mean that there was a final hearing where the Judge refused to order the eviction.
