Please provide information on the number of people with Covid-19 virus, in Jersey, each month since the beginning of 2023?

In addition, please provide a detailed breakdown of the different Covid variants that have been detected in Jersey over the same period.

The number COVID-19 cases confirmed by PCR testing are shown in the table below. However, it should be noted that the PCR testing offer for the general population ceased at the end of January 2023. PCR testing is now for clinical purposes only (for example, when clinically indicated amongst hospital patients). As a result, please be aware these numbers are not representative of COVID-19 cases in the population as a whole.

COVID swabs are not routinely sent to be analysed for variant type. Article 3 of the Freedom of information (Jersey) Law 2011 therefore applies as the requested information is not held by the Government of Jersey.

For the purposes of this Law, information is held by a public authority if –
(a) it is held by the authority, otherwise than on behalf of another person; or
(b) it is held by another person on behalf of the authority.
