Once an application has been processed and the prisoner has accepted the response the application is scanned into the electronic prisoner records and will remain there for 10 years after discharge. The hardcopy is destroyed.
C
The number of applications varies on a daily basis. The Governor is only involved in the application process should it be needed. Most applications are dealt with at Senior Officer level and escalated if required.
D
No prisoner should be overcharged – products are sold at the recommended price. Should an error occur, any overcharge will be refunded as soon as possible.
E
Food can be removed from a prisoner’s cell when a cell search has taken place, and it is found there is an excess of canteen products (a limit of one and a half times of a weekly spend can be kept). The excess will be investigated and if found not to be within the regulations will be destroyed.
