Viscount's Department

The Viscount’s Department is responsible for ensuring the decisions of Jersey’s Courts and States Assembly are carried out. Principally this means executing orders, such as serving summonses and other legal documents on members of the public and making wage arrests, as well as other general court enforcement duties.  In addition, the Department carries out the duties of Coroner, administers Désastre (bankruptcy) administration and investigation, and similar proceedings.
