Response
A
The manufacturers recommendations do not impact the total number of possible scans performed on the system.
This will be determined by the number of staff available, and the number of sequences performed for each patient and patient area, which will be site specific.
The lighthouse MR scanner runs from 7:45am to 8pm five days per week, with extra sessions at the weekend.
We aim to run the Meadows scanner from 8:45am to 5pm on a weekday but this is staffing level dependent and is currently unattainable.
Different exams take a different amount of time, from 30 minutes for a routine head scan to up to two hours for more complex examinations.
