Summary
āMinisters committed to writing a new law for Jersey to indirectly incorporate The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Childusing a model of ādue regardā. This is part of the Governmentās commitment to āput children firstā.
The United Nations Human Rights Committee on the Rights of the Child issued a concept note āGeneral comment on children's rights and the environment with a special focus on climate changeā, This recognises climate change as a key childrenās rights issue. Environmental harm negatively affects childrenās lives more going forward much more than adults. Biodiversity loss, pollution and climate change are significant contributors to the world experiencing.
