The Planning and Environment Department has launched a new planning advisory service enabling members of the public to receive free, face-to-face advice about planning and development issues.

The new drop-in service which operates from the Planning and Environment Department’s South Hill Offices will provide advice to customers on first-come first-served basis. It is aimed primarily at householders as opposed to commercial developers or agents.

The service operates from 08.30 – 17.00 Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. No appointment is necessary.

Andy Scate, Chief Officer, Planning and Environment Department said, “I am delighted to be able to offer our domestic customers this new advice service.  Planning legislation and policy can be complicated to understand and interpret but we are confident that this new drop-in service will help people through the process.  It is one of a number of improvements that we will be rolling out over the next six months.”
