June in Bloom

08 June 2010

Jersey's annual floral fortnight is set to bring colour and scent to the Island later this month.

June in Bloom is organised by Jersey Tourism from Saturday 12 to Sunday 27 June and is intended to entice green-fingered tourists to the Island during one of the quieter summer months.

Culminating in the Summer Festival and Rose Show at Samarès Manor on 26 and 27 June, the festival showcases Jersey’s natural environment, parks and gardens, floral attractions and markets.

Highlights include:

  • stunning open gardens
  • a champagne evening at the Lavender Farm
  • herb demonstrations at Samarès Manor
  • a garden tour and luncheon at Longueville Manor

Expert horticulturists will lead a number of walks and talks. The festival’s Guest Guide, the broadcaster, author and well-known arboriculturist, Tony Russell, will be offering a special tour of the unique woodland at La Hague Manor.

You can pick up a brochure detailing the week’s activities from Jersey Tourism’s Visitors’ Centre, hotels and airport and harbour arrivals.
