Saturday parking trial continues

05 November 2012

The Minister for Transport and Technical Services, Deputy Kevin Lewis has agreed to extend the four hour Saturday shopper parking initiative in Ann Place car park for an additional nine consecutive Saturdays.

Four hour shopper parking has been running in Ann Place car park on Saturdays since 6 October and was due to end on Saturday 4 November. However, following a review of usage and to assist local traders in the Christmas period, the Minister has decided to continue the initiative until Saturday 5 January.

Ann Place car park currently has 109 spaces which are normally occupied by all day parkers. By changing the maximum stay to four hours means this car park has been freed up for shoppers on these Saturdays. There is plenty of parking available at Green Street car park and there are 38 public spaces at the Ann Street Brewery car park for residents and commuters.
