Appointment of Director of Property

10 September 2020

Tim Daniels

The Government of Jersey has announced the appointment of a new Director of Property in the Growth, Housing and Development (GHE) department.

Tim Daniels, who has been covering the role in an interim capacity for the last 18 months, will lead the modernisation of the government’s approach to corporate property, strategic asset management and facilities management.

He will hold strategic and operational responsibility for the property portfolio. He will ensure appropriate facilities are in place to support the work of the government and external bodies and develop a corporate plan for an asset disposal programme. As a member of the departmental senior management team, Tim will contribute to the One Government Modernisation Programme and the delivery of the transformational strategy.

Before working for the Government of Jersey, Tim worked for Ogier and Elian for ten years as Client Director of Real Estate. Before that, he spent 23 years in the Royal Marines, with his last post being Chief Plans for the Multinational Security Transition Command in Iraq.

Tim is also the Chairman of the Jersey Branch of the Royal British Legion, who raise £200,000 annually for disadvantaged ex-service personnel and their families.

Tim will report to the Acting Director General of Growth, Housing and Environment, Andy Scate, who said: “I am delighted that Tim has joined the GHE team on a permanent basis.

“He complements the management team with his leadership skills and his local sector-specific knowledge. He will be instrumental in developing Government’s property function into the future as we enter a challenging and exciting period.”

Tim’s appointment is effective from Monday, 14 September and was overseen by the Jersey Appointments Commission.
