Booster vaccination statistics published

30 September 2021

The latest statistics as at Sunday 26 September show that 23% of over 80-year olds have received their booster dose within one week of being eligible. Booster appointments for high-risk Islanders will begin on Monday 4 October.

Key statistics:

  • 77,168 first doses have been administered
  • 74,026 second doses have been administered
  • 2,002 booster doses have been administered

Letters have been sent to all at-risk groups confirming that bookings will be open for them on Monday 4 October, with appointments also being available on the same day. Those Islanders should bring their letter and a form of ID to the appointment.

Walk-in appointments are currently not available for first and second doses due to the high number of Islanders coming through for booster doses and the roll-out of vaccinations for 12-15 year olds. Bookings can be made online or by calling the Coronavirus helpline on 0800 735 5566.

Head of the Vaccination Programme, Becky Sherrington, said: "The Booster Programme has been doing really well; we saw just under a quarter of Islanders aged 80 and over coming into the Centre for their booster dose, within just one week of becoming eligible.

"We are among the first jurisdictions in the UK to publish booster vaccination statistics and I think that is something to be really proud of.

"This week we saw many 12-15 year olds coming into the Centre for their Covid vaccination; the child-friendly pods that we have set up has been really successful and positively received by children and parents.

"I look forward to welcoming high-risk Islanders for their booster dose next week, it is really important that we keep up this effort to get vaccinated and I continue to thank Islanders for their support and those who joined the Ask The Experts event earlier this week. I hope that Islanders found it useful but if Islanders have any questions about the vaccine, please feel free to ask any of our medical experts who are always happy to help."
