Government responds to Comptroller and Auditor General report on anti-corruption arrangements

27 January 2021

The Government of Jersey has responded to the Comptroller and Auditor General’s (C&AG) report on anti-corruption arrangements.

The Government welcomes the report, which highlights that the C&AG has not identified any examples of corruption in the organisation. However, the report also outlines work that needs to be done to implement the new Anti-Corruption Policy and the Counter Fraud and Corruption Strategy and review and update the Codes of Conduct for employees, States Members, and Ministers and Assistant Ministers.

Responding to the report, Treasurer of the States and Director General for Treasury and Exchequer, Richard Bell, said: “I’d like to thank the C&AG for her report. While her findings are encouraging, there is no doubt that there is still work to do to ensure that employees, States Members and Ministers are fully aware of their responsibilities in this important area and that we have the right policies and codes of conduct in place to support them.”

The Government will now consider the report and its recommendations and will respond fully in due course.
