Statement of significance
Part of an integrated network of German defensive structures constructed in Jersey during the Second World War, more widely part of the Atlantic Wall. A good example of 2 types of gun sited in a rocky headland, backed up by machine guns and a searchlight, giving fire over 2 beaches.

The site includes: Anti-tank wall no.5; Standard type 606 searchlight bunker with associated ramp and operating platform - an unusual fortification and the only one of its kind in Jersey; 2 x .Tobruk stands for machine gun; Channel Islands standard casemate for 10.5 cm beach defence gun; Standard type 631 casemate for 4.7 cm Czech anti-tank fortress weapons - removed by the Germans from the Sudetenland and transferred to the channel coast, and one of only 3 examples of this type of bunker in Jersey.
