External Description
The church is octagonal in plan, built in dark grey stone with Caen stone dressings (now largely repaired with cement). The west front has a gothic door with window above flanked by buttressed octagonal turrets and lancet windows. Some details such as the finials have been lost. The church is set back behind decorative iron railings and gates. The interior is polygonal with a gallery carried on fourteen tall columns of Caen stone, divided by pointed arches with foliated capitals. There is a painted stone pulpit with ornate railings, and a concealed 'singing pew' behind the pulpit. A central roof lantern is carried on timber hammer-beams. Painted and varnished timbers. Behind the church and connected to it but facing onto Cattle Street is the granite church hall with restrained gothic windows.
