Statement of significance A good example of an early C19 chapel-of-ease which retains much of its original context, with unusual 1920s/30s interior fittings. Context n/a External Description A small chapel in the Classical style. Built in granite with painted render finish – the pedimented façade with exposed granite corner pilasters. Wide three bay building. The roof is gabled and slated. The main east façade has three square headed doors set in gothic arched moulding - the central one larger and with a simple gothic fanlight. Above are two windows lighting the gallery, flanking a panel bearing the inscription ‘Consecrated MDCCCXXXV’. Above is a pediment with a plain cornice and a clock face in a roundel. There is a small Latin cross on top of the apex of the pediment. 3 bays of round-headed windows to side walls, separated by simple pilasters. The interior of the church was largely refitted in the 1920s/1930s. Internal Description New doors and Pews instaled in 1928, during the incumbency of the Reverend Leonard Foster (from 1904 to 1943). Carved oak rood-screen, reredos, choir stalls and pulpit all resulted from an interior re-fit also during this period. Present organ installed in 1895. Plaster relief to ceiling in a checker-board pattern with decorative ceiling vents.
