Statement of significance
The windmill tower dates to circa 1830s and is one of few surviving examples in Jersey of an important and distinct industrial building type.

External Description
The windmill tower is conical in shape and the main body of the structure is of rubble granite construction dating to circa 1830s. There are a series of original small rectangular window openings with granite dressings (those at lower level now blocked). One of the original doorways is blocked and the other fitted with a German steel blast door - an additional doorway inserted into the base of the tower in the 1940s, protected by concrete screen walls. The German works also pierced the upper part of the granite tower with observation slits and constructed an additional storey in reinforced concrete with further observation slits. At the same time, the interior of the tower was lined with a concrete sleeve along with new floors and concrete steps. Of particular note to the interior is the painted ranging marks and points within the observation floor, which are the best example in Jersey.
