Planning service to conduct customer survey

09 October 2008

The Planning Service is to conduct a customer survey as part of a wider ranging review designed to improve performance and customer service.

The survey will provide vital information about the sort of service that Islanders want and help focus improvements on the areas that matter most. Copies will be sent to a random selection of 800 existing customers including architects, developers and individual householders. It will also be available on-line to all other customers who want to participate.

Andrew Scate, the recently appointed Chief Executive of the Planning and Environment Department said: “The planning service currently falls short in a number of areas including application turn-around times and customer access to clear, helpful information.  We are committed to addressing this and are undertaking a review of how we manage and process planning applications.  We would be very grateful if existing and past customers could take five minutes to complete the survey, before the 7th November, and tell us what it is they want. This information will be fed into the review process and will help us to deliver improvements across the board for all Islanders.”

The survey is available on-line at http://consult.gov.je/portal .  Hard copies of the survey are also available from the Planning and Building Service Reception at South Hill.
