Council for Culture conference 2009

The second public conference, introduced by Deputy James Reed the Minister for Education, Sport and Culture, took place on Saturday 28 November 2009 at Hautlieu School. 

The Minister welcomed the visiting speakers and asked for the help of those present to begin working with the department on separate policy strands for arts and heritage (individual workshops for arts and heritage were scheduled as part of the conference).

Presentations were given by:

  • Glenys Hughes Director of the St Magnus Festival Orkney
  • Stephen Harrison MBE Chairman of the European Museum Forum
  • Wiard Sterk Executive Director of Safle Public Art
  • Joanna Littlejohns Head of Arts Development at the Guernsey Arts Commission
