About the courses we offer
We offer in-person or online group courses for parents and carers living in Jersey.
Our courses help you develop the skills and strategies to:
- raise happy, confident children
- build a positive relationship between you and your child
- manage behaviour in a positive way
- set rules and routines
- take care of yourself as a parent
- feel confident in the decisions you’re making
All our courses are a confidential and supportive space for you to meet others in similar situations and share your experiences.

Neurodiversity support for ADHD and autism
These courses support parents of children with ADHD or autism.
New Forest Parenting Programme (ADHD)
These courses will improve your knowledge of ADHD and how it affects your child or teenager.
You'll learn ways to help:
- accept and celebrate them as they are
- support them to build their skills
- manage difficulties and reduce your stress as a parent
- understand how physiological and neurological changes in adolescence interact with ADHD behaviours
Early Bird and Early Bird Plus (autism)
These courses are developed by the
National Autistic Society.
During the course you'll learn about autism and how to:
- understand sensory difference
- develop basic play and social skills
- improve communication and support interactions
- understand and support your child’s behaviour
Early Bird courses are for parents or carers of pre-school children. Early Bird Plus courses are for parents or carers of children aged 5 to 10.
Teen Life (autism)
This course is developed by the
National Autistic Society.
In the course you'll learn:
- how autism is experienced by autistic teenagers
- useful strategies and ideas to support an autistic young person through their teenage years
- experiences from other parents
Positive parenting tools
These courses provide strategies, connection, boundaries and relationship-based support.
Strength Based Parenting
Research shows that children who have parents that are strengths-focused have higher levels of wellbeing, life satisfaction and resilience.
This approach has been shown to help parents feel less stressed which in turn helps to support children's wellbeing and resilience.
The course will help you to:
- understand more about strengths and how to spot them in your children
- identify your own strengths and how to use these when challenge arise
Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) Parenting Approach
This course focuses on the core elements of NVR which are aimed at supporting parents to gain new skills and strategies for de-escalation, parental presence and self-care.
On the course you will:
- be supported by the facilitator and other parents
- grow in confidence
- reconnect with yourself and become the parent or carer you would like to be
- learn to support your child and strengthen relationships
- feel empowered to take positive steps forward

Decider Skills
Using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), the course will teach you to:
- recognise your own thoughts, feelings and behaviours
- help you make effective changes to promote your own wellbeing and to cope better emotionally
Growing emotional strength
These courses focus on emotional regulation grounding and mental wellbeing.
Nature Well: Nature Connected
Join other parents and carers and explore a deeper connection with the natural world to improve mental health.
Research shows that people who are more connected with nature are happier in life and are more likely to report feeling their lives are worthwhile.
Spending time in nature can also:
- generate many positive emotions such as calmness and joy
- facilitate concentration and creativity

Mindfulness
The course introduces the concept and practice of mindfulness by increasing awareness of living in the present moment, it will help you:
- manage stress
- increase resilience
- strengthen relationships
- cultivate a balanced lifestyle

Togetherness: learning pathways for the whole family
Togetherness is a great way to access support at a time and place which suits you and your family. Togetherness was known as In Our Place.
