​​​​​​​​​​​​About the Inclusion Executive Board (IEB)

The Inclusion Executive Board (IEB) is a governing body that oversees how Children, Young People, Education and Skills (CYPES) respond to the:

• Island Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) review​
  
• Independent Review of Inclusive Education and Early Years 2021​
  

The IEB provides strategic oversight, support and challenge to:

• schools
• senior leaders
• officers within CYPES Central Education Team

The IEB reviews the pace, suitability and impact of strategic plans to deliver the recommendations arising from both reviews and ongoing external monitoring visits. 

Purpose of the IEB

The core purpose of the IEB is to support the development of a more inclusive education system for Jersey and improve outcomes for all children and young people.

The IEB will:

• champion inclusive practice in  all schools and settings 
• oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of improvement planning for SEND and inclusion 
• strengthen communication between schools, government departments and families 
• identify opportunities and barriers, share best practice, and drive improvement 
• quality-assure progress and impact to ensure that commitments lead to meaningful outcomes for children and young people
