Recycling: packets and wrappers

You cannot recycle most packets and wrappers

​The metal used for crisp and snack packets or wrappers is often coated with plastic film and cannot be recycled.

Good to know

Do the scrunch test to check whether your shiny wrapper is aluminium foil or plastic film. Scrunch the wrapper in your hand. If it springs back open it’s not recyclable and you should put it in your general waste.
