Recycling: boats and jet skis

How you can recycle boats and jet skis

Strip the boat of all the metal parts and fittings including;

  • engines
  • supplies and equipment, above and below deck
  • keels
  • rubbing strips
  • steering
  • controls
  • shaft bearings
  • glands
  • motors
  • gearboxes
  • pumps
  • compressors
  • fuel lines
  • tanks

Once you have stripped the boat of all fixtures and fittings, email the Recycling Team at the Household Reuse and Recycling Centre to arrange delivery. When you deliver the fibreglass shell you'll need to take the boat off the trailer yourself so consider taking a couple of people with you to help.

Any leftover metal parts and engines can be taken to the Household Reuse and Recycling Centre and put into the metals container.
