  • ​cardboard boxes, such as cereal boxes, corrugated cardboard (any polystyrene removed)
  • delivery boxes
  • egg boxes
  • clean pizza boxes
  • brown paper

No thanks

  • ​food and drink cartons
  • milk cartons
  • polystyrene
  • card that has any food or dirt on it

How you can recycle cardboard

Make sure you have thrown any leftover food or associated plastic containers away with your general waste.

Remove all loose strands of sticky tape from cardboard boxes and wrapping paper before you recycle them.

Where you can dispose of cardboard


Good to know

  • cardboard is sent to a UK recycler to be used in the manufacture of recycled cardboard products
  • egg boxes with the label or stickers removed and inner rolls from kitchen towel can be put in your home compost
