Recycling: flat glass

How you can recycle flat glass

Separate any frames from the glazing unit or mirror and put it in the appropriate container at the Household Reuse and Recycling Centre, for example the metal or bulky waste containers.

Flat glass has its own container. We also have a container for mixed glass like bottles and jars.

Handle glass products carefully, using gloves and transporting items in sturdy containers to avoid accidents. If the glass is broken or you need assistance, ask a member of staff for help.

Where you can dispose of flat glass

How you can reuse flat glass

Framed mirrors can often be reused or upcycled. If undamaged, bring your mirror to the Acorn Reuse centre

Good to know

You can often repair damaged window frames, double glazing units and locks instead of replacing them.
