Recycling: ink cartridges

You cannot recycle ink cartridges
Printer ink cartridges

Small amounts of ink cartridges can be dispose of:

  • in your general household waste
  • in the ink cartridges container at La Collette
  • by your suppliers (only some suppliers)

If you work in an office their supplier may be able to dispose of your household ink cartridges.

How you can reduce or reuse ink cartridges

​Refills are significantly cheaper than buying a new cartridge, some printer companies offer this service.

​Most inks are now water-based and so printed paper can be disposed of in your home compost or with your paper recycling.
