Recycling: tyres

  • ​separate the metal rim from the rubber tyre if you can, both parts need to be disposed of separately
  • metal rims can be recycled into the metal container at the Household Reuse and Recycling Centre
  • put rubber tyres in the bulky waste container
  • If you can't separate the tyre from the metal rim, put both items in the bulky waste container at the Household Reuse and Recycling Centre

Good to know

​When you need new tyres on your car, the garage where you have them fitted will normally dispose of your old tyres for you.
