Learn about recycling household metal packaging in our short video.
In Jersey we produce about 100,000 tonnes of rubbish every year. The amount of waste we generate has doubled in the last 20 years and will continue to rise unless we all reduce, reuse and recycle.
Waste that is not separated for recycling is incinerated at the Energy Recovery facility located at La Collette. Here it is used to generate electricity for the island.
By reducing your waste and recycling as much as possible, you will be helping to reduce the production of ash from the Energy Recovery facility and saving the world’s precious resources.
