About the consultation

The strategic issues and options consultation focuses on the big-picture issues which will help set the direction of the new Island Plan.

After this consultation closes on Friday 4 October 2019, the responses will help form the draft Island Plan.

This consultation does not include potential sites, which will be considered at a later stage of the process. You can find out more about the process on the About the Island Plan Review page.

Public meeting dates

Drop-in events are being held in every parish, so that everyone can talk to officers and get involved in the strategic issues and options consultation.

There are also 3 interactive workshops, which are your opportunity to participate in discussions on the priority issues for the next Island Plan, ask the team questions and take part in live polling.

These events are open to all islanders and tickets must be booked in advance.

How to submit comments to the consultation

There are two versions of this consultation. Responses to both will be treated in the same way.

Summary consultation

The summary consultation covers the key issues and has 27 questions. You can answer as many or as few questions as you wish. Reading the summary consultation document and answering all of the questions should take approximately 90 minutes.

Technical consultation

The technical consultation covers the same issues in greater detail and has 47 questions (including the 27 found in the summary version). Reading the technical consultation document and answering the questions should take around three or four hours.
