About the consultation

​The Employment Forum is reviewing the minimum wage and wants to know your views on what rate the minimum wage should be set at from 1 April 2018.

Current rates

The minimum wage is £7.18 per hour.

The minimum wage for a trainee in their first year of training is £5.39 per hour.

The minimum wage for a trainee in their second year of training is £6.28 per hour.

What we want you to comment on

The Employment Forum would like to hear your views about what rate the minimum wage should be set at from 1 April 2018.

The Employment Forum would particularly like to hear the views of businesses that employ staff at the minimum wage and employees who are paid at, or around, the minimum wage.
