About the consultation
We would like to know your views on how Jersey should approach non-medical cannabis, also known as recreational cannabis.
Cannabis is currently illegal in Jersey, unless it is medicinal cannabis used by a patient in accordance with a prescription. Several countries have changed their approach to allow some people to legally use non-medicinal cannabis or to legally cultivate, buy and sell cannabis.
In November 2025, Jersey’s States Assembly will debate whether Jersey should also change the law in relation to non-medicinal cannabis, and what those changes should be.
This survey aims to help understand what people in Jersey think about our current approach to non-medicinal cannabis, and whether the law should change. The findings will inform the Assembly’s debate.
How to submit comments to the consultation
The survey is open to anyone who lives in Jersey.
All responses are anonymous and confidential.
The survey includes short questions about:
- your views on the current law and whether it should change
- your reasons for supporting or opposing any change
You may also provide other comments.
It should take 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
