About the consultation
This questionnaire was open to Jersey retailers only. The views of other groups are being sought separately.
On 16 June 2020, the States Assembly agreed to develop legislation that bans the supply and distribution of specific types of single use plastic and paper bags by all retailers and sets a minimum price for reusable plastic carrier bags known as
bags for life.
The States Assembly agreed for the minimum price for reusable plastic carrier bags to be set following consultation with the retail sector.
The questionnaire asks for your thoughts on:
-
the minimum price that should be set for reusable plastic carrier bags
-
the implementation period for its introduction
-
monitoring and enforcement
-
communication tools
-
future extension of the legislation to other single use items
Your answers will be used to develop the legislation and implementation plans.
