About the consultation

The Economic Development Department, along with the Jersey Financial Services Commission, are seeking your views on issues relating to the level of annual company fees in Jersey.

At the moment, companies incorporated in Jersey pay £150 per year on filing their annual returns (the annual company fee). Part of the consultation suggests the increase of this fee to £250.

The annual company fee needs to be set at a level that ensures:
  1. the States (and accordingly the people of Jersey) receive an appropriate level of benefit from those choosing to incorporate companies in Jersey
  2. the level of fee charged is not such as to discourage business from coming to Jersey or setting up business in Jersey

Part of the proposed increase in fees includes an increase in the fee charged by the Jersey Financial Services Commission.

This green paper also represents the commission’s consultation regarding the proposed fee increase under Article 201 of the Companies Law.
